Richmond, California
Back to Map
Richmond. Home of Rosie the Riveter.
Richmond put itself on the map during World War II when it became home to shipbuilding and war time industries and thousands of workers supporting the wartime effort. Since then, many family neighborhoods have developed – from Richmond Annex, almost a corner of El Cerrito, to Richmond View extending into the Hills. A little further North, the North and East neighborhood has many affordable, charming bungalows. And as you head west toward Marin, the development of Marina Bay gives you a cross between urban East Bay and the laid back lifestyle of life by the water. At Richmond’s furthest most tip, there’s the unique and historic Point Richmond. An artsy, out of the way kind of place, it is its own kind of place.
